Uttar Pradesh: District Level Facility Survey Successfully Conducted by EHI

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) commissioned a heath facility survey across the country. EHI International conducted the facility survey in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The main objective of the survey was evaluate the infrastructure and functioning of Sub Health Centers (SHC), Primary Health Centers (PHC), Community Health Centres (CHC), Sub Divisional Hospital (SDH) and District Hospitals (DH). All the districts of Uttar Pradesh were covered under the survey and a  total of 4200 facilities were surveyed.

The survey essentially collected information about human resources available, physical infrastructure and services provided at Sub Centre, PHC, CHC, Sub Divisional Hospital and District Hospital. All CHCs, Sub Divisional Hospitals and District Hospitals were covered in the facility survey. For identification of these facilities the Chief Medical Officer’s offices were approached, and a list obtained and verification done from the Sarpanch.

The survey provided information on the availability of manpower, supply of critical materials/inputs under RCH project and availability & utilization of services at Sub Health Centres, Primary Health Centres (PHC), Community Health Centres (CHC), Sub Divisional Hospitals (SDH) and District Hospitals (DH) level.
